There is no Sanctuary!
That was taken away in the blink of an eye. Humanity went out not with a whimper, but a bang.
Authors Note
I wrote this series with one thought in mind – What would I actually do in the event of an apocalyptic event? This story and series being true to the actual skills and experiences I possess. No super heroes or someone possessing miraculous abilities, just a normal person seeking to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Being an ex-Air Force pilot and operating in the special operations arena, the experiences I have gathered lend themselves well to surviving in a world such as I have presented, being advantageous in certain aspects of survival. Written in the first person, it takes you through an accounting of what that world and survival looks like through the eyes of someone being suddenly thrust into a situation that looks normal from first glance, with regards to the physical environment, but with a terror lurking underneath and survival in question at every turn. Imagine yourself looking out of your window and everything looks the same; buildings stand tall and straight reflecting sunlight from their exteriors; trees sway in the morning breeze; cars sit silently in parking lots; a bright blue sky looks down and the air clear of smoke from burning fires. Except there is one simple but huge difference, there’s nobody around. The plausibility of the scenario and premise make this a truly unique story and interesting read and I truly hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to leave a review and let me know what you think.

Is there a third book in “New World Series”?. I Love this series and don’t want to see it end. Thanks, Sunshine
Hi there! I am so glad to hear you are enjoying them. Makes my day and evening. I cam currently working on the third book and about one-third of the way through. I am hoping to be finished by the end of November and have it published shortly thereafter. I will make sure to keep you informed and hope your evening is a very pleasant and fun one for you!
John
Oh, would you mind, and only if you have time, leaving a review for both books on Amazon. I would greatly appreciate it and want to thank you once again for the very nice message. I wish you an enjoyable weekend Sunshine!
Just finished reading both books and found this blog. I was thrilled to hear your writing a third!!! I have stuck with James Axlers Deathland series, on book 100 so keep em coming! I am an avid WTSHTF book reader and I think yours are right at the top! Thank you.
Thank you so much Belinda and appreciate the nice message. I am thrilled you enjoyed them and it makes my day to hear it. Thanks for you great review as well. That is also very much appreciated. Hopefully the third will be out next month sometime. The writing is going slow but it’s getting there. I’m about a third of the way through. I hope you are having a great day and that your weekend was a fun one for you!
Loved the series. Cant wait for the next. Frankly not usually my genre but your humor drama etc had drawn me in. I laughed I cried etc. Both books in one weekend. You need to write faster so I dont have to wait. Will happioly buy each one. Lets know when they are out. Thanks for the adventure.
I’m so glad you enjoyed them Gregory and thank you for the nice message. I’m busy pounding away on the keyboard as we speak. I’m about 80% of the way through the draft of the third and hope to finish it by this weekend. We’ll see how that goes. I hope to have the next one out by mid-December and will surely let you know. Again, thank you for the great comment. If you wouldn’t mind putting a review up on Amazon for each book, I would greatly appreciate it. I hope you have a great day and evening! Feel free to keep in touch.
It was my pleasure to leave an excellant review on Amazon. Only 80%?
. As a prior private pilot I loved seeing the the classic jokes. Again – fantastic. Thanks. Please notify if possible when released.
Thanks again Greg! How long have you been flying?
Glad to here a long series ahead. Flew about 8 years. Owned T210. Would have moved up but could find no “missions” to continue. Loved IFR. Lots here in Oregon. VFR was dull after doing IFR. Thanks for the interest. Look forward to the entire series. (Please don’t limit to ten though.}
Nice on the 210. Love that aircraft. I flew a tremendous amount in Oregon. As a matter of fact, most of my civilian time is in Oregon. Went through the Lance Community Flight tech program and have flown all over the state. And you’re right, IFR is pretty cool unless you’re trying to stay tucked in on the wing. Then it is a little nerve racking. At any rate, I really enjoyed flying all over there.
Hi John,
Just finished reading both of your books via the Kindle. And they were great. Cant wait for the follow-up. How many more in the series are you planning on writing? All the best from Ozz.
Hi Craig,
I’m truly glad that you are enjoying the series. I’m typing on the third book at this very moment. The draft is almost finished – I’m hoping this weekend sometime – and then have it ready by mid-December. The 19th is what I’m shooting for as the cover should be finished by then as well as the editing. I’m thinking the series will be around ten books at this time but that could change either way as the story progresses. Again, I really enjoyed getting your kind words. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each book on Amazon as well, I would greatly appreciate it. I hope your evening is treating you well!
Hey John,
I bought the first book as amazon had recommended it after reading joseph tallutos White Flag of the Dead series… I read the first book a few days ago and didnt sleep until 4 in the morning because I was not able to put my cell phone down (kindle on my phone). The next day i bought the second book and just finished reading it. I have read probably over 100 zombie/post apocalyptic survival books and this is definitely being added to my favorites. I will definitely be writing a review on amazon and am letting my friends know all about it. I loved the details on piloting since my dad is an amateur hobby pilot, so it made me relate to your character more. Cant wait for the third one to come out!
Thank you very much Robert! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the both of them – sorry for the lost night’s sleep though. It always makes my day/evening to hear that the series is being enjoyed. I also appreciate the great review and thank you for it. I’m just finished up with the draft on the third and hoping to have it out within the next couple of weeks. I also appreciate the recommendations to you friends. I’ll make sure and let you know when the next is about out. I hope you have a fantastic evening!
John,
Both books were exceptional in a flooded market of zombie books. I couldn’t put them down. I found the accurate usage of military hardware and tactics refreshing. I am former a former Army engineer (Sapper tabbed) and can attest to the robustness of the 130, having jumped out of them for years. Good luck with the series. I will eagerly await the follow up books. I will also throw in a fiver for you on Amazon.
I am also a new author trying to cut my teeth in the zombie genre of books. I like you am drawing on my military skills and training to add more of a heavy firepower aspect to surviving the zombie apocalypse.
Keep up the great work.
Dave
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your comments and I’m very glad you enjoyed the books. A also appreciate the review left on Amazon. Yeah, rappelling down a cliff with shoelaces could get a bit sporty. How far are you along with your book(s)? I would enjoy reading them at some point. I hope you are having a great day!
John
John.
I’m about 30,000 words into it. Its still pretty rough and needs some major editing work. I have tons of ideas and chapters in my head, its getting them down on paper in readable form thats the hard part.
After reading your work I would be grateful for any inpit you have.
Have a good one
Dave
About a third of the way through – great job! I would say get them down and then edit it afterwards – after you tell the story. Each person works in their own way but id doesn’t have to be perfect the first time through. I would be happy to take a look at it whenever you feel ready.
Send me an e mail address to davidbrunton6@yahoo.com and I will send you the rough copy of what I have so far.
Any input would be huge.
Thanks again.
Dave
Hi John-
I finished your first book using my Kindle and immediately purchased the second. I’m part way through it and find it very enjoyable. I’ll be looking forward to #3 and I hope you make a $ziIlion bucks off the writing. I live in the Lake Tapps area so it’s even more enjoyable having actually been on some of the locations you describe. The kayak picture at the end of book one looks suspiciously like it was taken on Issac lake in the Bowron Park circuit. All the best to you!
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for your message and I am glad you enjoyed the first book. Hopefully you enjoy the second one as much! I do manage to get up to Lake Tapps every once in a while but not too often. I do a bit of kayaking around here but the picture was actually taken on a trip to Alaska where I spend a day out on the water. It’s amazing how similar the both places look. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each book on Amazon, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again Mike and I hope you have a great day!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Very exciting news. I have been anxiious to read this sequel. Unfortunetly it is not at Barnes and Noble yet. Very disappointing. (In fact the last time I was this disappointed was when my 210 started to sputter at 11000 feet). Any Idea when it might reach B&N? Congrats again!
Gregory
Hi Gregory,
I’m not sure when it will be pushed out to B&N. It usually take a couple of weeks to get there. Yeah, those sputtering engines are not a good thing. Not like you can pull over and throw the hood open. I hope you have a great holiday season. I’ll let you know when I see it out on B&N.
I have been checking weekly for your 3rd book! I am downloading now on kindle and will be reading soon! Abanding the other 2 books that I have started! Thanks!
YES! I’ve been checking back weekly on amazon for your 3rd book! Downloading to my kindle now! Setting aside other books currently reading! Thanks!
Thank you Lily! I hope you enjoy it! I hope you are having a fantastic holiday season and that’s it’s filled with cheer and fun!
John
Hi John,
Just finished Sanctuary and have enjoyed all three books immensely. This last book ended as if there will be a fourth. True? If so, when? Hope your Holidays were pleasant. Take care.
Lea Petersen
I’ve just finished your exciting book! I look forward to the way will develope this series. I sometimes wonder if youre showing hints in but try not to dwell to much; I rather be surprised.
Thanks again, and I already rated on amazon.
Lily
Hi John! I love your series, I just spent the last 3 days reading the 3 books on my Kindle much to my families dismay since I forgot to make supper! I got started and couldn’t put the books down. I did have trouble understanding some of the technical jargon and kind of got grossed out when you went into detail of how each bullet entered their bodies and how it destroyed them, but overall I really enjoyed it. You left off with things still needing to be resolved so I’m wondering when the next book will come out, if you say there won’t be anymore I’ll be very disappointed!
Thanks for the great adventure, Melissa
Enjoyed the first three books. I look forward to the next. I do agree to much tech talk and some things. But a really good read again keep up the good work
Thank you Robert! I appreciate you taking the time to say hi and I’m glad you enjoyed the series so far. I hope you have a great day and week!
Oh, if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each one as well, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks again Robert and enjoy your day!
John
Two down one to go! First “WOW” I am a big fan of the apocalyptic genre but not so much the ZA types… until now. Also thanks- It’s nice to see a story that has us Fobbits (Signal Corps here) doing more than red shirt duty while the operators have Superman capes. Not hating on the SO community as they are masters of their trade, just nice to see someone acknowledge that we can all shoot move and communicate!
About to write some Amazon reviews and then dive into book three. =) I understand the reasons behind the cabala’s choice outlined in book 2, but I know I’d loading a barge with goodies and setting my happy self down on McMicken Island (47.247921,-122.862704).
Hi Dwayne,
Glad you are liking the books and hope the third is just as good as the others for you. You know, that is one of my biggest complaints about some stories and movies. All troops have training but just don’t exercise that on a daily basis. Just because they don’t doesn’t mean they don’t know what they are doing should the opportunity or situation present itself. I tried to portray that each soldier has that training and ability and are quite capable if a situation arose. They are no different than operators or shooters, they only have a different day job.
I’m with you on the barge or boat idea if the “zombies” were regular ones. Although I haven’t really thought about it much, I think the night runners could swim. Thought for another small story line – thanks. And thank you for the reviews! I hope you have a great day and drop in to say hi anytime!
John
just finished 3rd book. How soon will you be ready with the next? I think about ” what if?” and realize all I have to do is follow your example and
my family and friends will survive.. Thanks!! You have covered all the bases and
I will never go into a large dark building.
Thanks for dropping in and taking the time to leave a message. I will be starting the next book this week. I am thinking about writing about Jack’s earlier years before continuing on with the main story. It seems like a good time to put that one in. I am really glad you enjoyed the books. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each on Amazon, that would be greatly appreciated. I started the series and story doing the same as you; thinking about the “what if” and it just kept going. I hope you have an amazing day and thanks again!
Hi John, I have just finished reading all three books via kindle, and I have to say: it was a fantastic read!
Your vivid descriptions of the action make it extremely easy to imagine being right there with Jack and the gang as they prepare to enter yet another dark building, and I have to say that is not something high on my list of things I would like to experience.
I cannot wait for the next book!
So glad you had a good time and enjoyed them. I appreciate you letting me know as it makes my day hearing and knowing the story is being enjoyed. Yeah, that kind of tension is not the easiest and you almost want action to come just to get it over with. I’ll be starting on the next book this week although I’m thinking the next one will be a companion book of Jack’s earlier life before I get book 4 going. Also, if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each book on Amazon, I would very much appreciate that. I hope your day is a pleasant one and treats you well!
John
Hi John,
I’ve read all three books in your series and really, REALLY enjoyed them. Looking forward to book #4. Not too sure I’m interested in reading about Jack before book #1. That’s almost like closing the barn door after the horse gets out. More interested in reading what the group does next. Made me cry when Jack’s daughter died. That was almost more than I could bare. Didn’t stop my reading though. Just made it hard to see the words. I have to check Amazon to see if I left reviews. Getting old and I don’t review every book I read. But this series deserves a 5 Star review across the board. Take care and (chuckle) write fast.
Hi Lea,
I am very happy to know you enjoyed them. I know I left the last one on edge and should get to it first so as to not leave the story hanging but I would like to get Jack’s life out to facilitate the character development aspect a little more. I am torn about whether to continue on with the story but this seems like a good place to put that in. And any review would be most appreciated – thank you! I promise to hurry with the 4th book regardless. I hope you are having an amazing day and thanks again for saying hi! And my apologies if I didn’t respond to your first message. I could have sworn I did as I try to.
John
Thanks again for another fantastic story. Truly enjoy the day to day lives of the characters. The stress/humor at the apartment was amazing. The low flight evoked memories of my last flight with my father. Cleared for low pass over restricted military runway. Started to receive numerous warnings when descended below two hundred feet. Stayed at ten feet for entire ten thousand foot length with emphatic warnings of being detained if even the wheels touched. Cancer had destroyedd his vocal cords but not his humor and laughter as we flew. Informed me later that 200 feet was the norm. Oh well – got their interest up also.. Long story to tell you how I appreciate how your stories can connect in a multitude of ways. Thanks again for the great story/memories and will anxiously await the next.
P.S. Now at B&N
Hi Gregory,
I’m so glad you are continuing to enjoy the story. And thank you for the great reviews. I’m glad you were able to experience that moment with your dad. Those memories are so priceless. I’m quite sure the radios traffic had become quite emphatic during the fly by and glad you both were able to share that experience and laughter together. Made me smile thinking about and running the picture through my head. Sorry to hear about his cancer though. I hope your day and rest of your weekend are truly amazing and are treating you well!
John
Unrelated to the book. What is the song playing? Sometimes I come back to your site just to listen.
Hi Lily,
Yeah, I usually have the site music playing during the day and when I write. Pretty cool huh! Most of them are from the movie King Arthur. One other is from Blackhawk down and the last one is the theme from Skyrim.
Just finished reading all three books, and loved them. Reading through the previous notes above, looks like I’m going to have to wait awhile for the fourth book to be written in order to find out what happens to Robert and Bri and of course Jack!! Sure hope you are a fast typer! Going to Amazon to leave a glowing review! By the way, don’t forget to write about the female runner that was captured by the people in the white van, very intriguing, I wondered what happened to her and who she was/is…
Hi Nancy,
First, thank you for the great reviews you posted. They are very much appreciated. Second, I am so glad you are enjoying the series. I’m almost a quarter of the way through the draft on the fourth book so hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer. And not to worry about the female that was captured, you may see more regarding that. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day, evening, and week! Feel free to drop in and say hi anytime!
John
This is an excellent read I have read all of the series so far. I see the operations come through and I cannot pick holes in the tactics. I am a former Platoon Sergeant (Airborne Grunt an proud of it) and I can tell that you know what you are talking about. The books appeal to me on several levels and I also enjoy the ride even though it gets bumpy. I appreciate your character development especially with Jack. He is a 3 dimensional personality and very human in that he is not super human but an atypical Everyman. Waiting on the next installment!
Hi Shawn,
Always nice to meet a fellow vet. I appreciate you dropping by and sharing your thoughts and really glad you are enjoying the books so far. Hopefully not too much longer to wait on for the fourth one. I am typing like mad as we speak. I see you put former Platoon Sergeant. Are you still in or retire? If you wouldn’t mind taking the time and putting a review for each book on Amazon, I would appreciate it very much! I hope you have a very wonderful day and keep in touch!
John
Nice job! I also am a vet (19k – M1 crewman) and after the ground war offensive slowed in Iraq in `03, we essentially had to park the tanks and scrounge up whatever “tactical” gear was issued to us tankers and learn to kick in doors on our own to clear out buildings in our AO. I can very much recall the anxiety, etc while looking at a dark building…just glad we didn’t have night runners to deal with!
Also, great idea with the Cabelas. At first I thought {facepalm} “great, I just paid for this book.” Then I started thinking about it more (we have bass pro in my area but nearly the same) and provided there are enough people, its a great structure.
Looking forward to book 4!
Hi Jerrod,
Always nice to meet a fellow vet. Your service is so much appreciated – thank you! I should have the 4th book out in early March – hopefully! I am so glad you are enjoying the series and want to thank you for taking the time to drop in and share your thoughts. Feel free to drop by anytime and say hi. I would be forever grateful if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon for each. Bass Pro would be a nice location as well. I’ve been to the one in Springfield and I think it suit equally well. I hope you have had a great weekend and your evening is treating you well!
John
LOVED this series I finished all 3 books in 4 days! Will there be a book 4?
Hi Nikki,
I am so glad you are enjoying the series and I truly appreciate you taking the time to drop in and say hi. There will be a book 4 which I am writing on as we speak. I am hoping to have it out by the middle of March but we’ll have to see about that. I would be forever grateful if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each book on Amazon. I hope you had a great weekend and your Monday is treating you well! Feel free to drop by anytime and say hi. I thoroughly conversing. Have an awesome day!
John
amazing series, i just read all three books to pass the time on my deployment. books in this genre really make you think if anything along these lines really can happen, and thats the thing i like most about these books…it gives me ideas about how i want to have some things prepared and available in event that something like this could actually go down, better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it
Hi Micah,
I am really glad you are enjoying the series so far. Happy they made your deployment a little easier. Just finished the draft of the fourth so hopefully you enjoy that one as well. Should be out in a couple of weeks. I would greatly appreciate it if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon for each. Feel free to stop in anytime and say hi or voice your thoughts. I hope you had a great weekend and your Monday is treating you well! Again, thanks for the kind words.
John
John,
I finished the whole series in less than 2 days. I dying for the 4th book. Great reads. Hurry hurry hurry!
Hi Jessica,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the books so far. I am editing the fourth book as we speak and hope to have it out within the next couple of weeks. I wish the thing would edit itself and then onto the next. I appreciate your kind words and taking the time to share them. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon for each, I would be eternally grateful. Again, thank you for dropping by and feel free to do so at any time. I hope your day is an enjoyable one for you!
John
John,
OK, maybe it’s because I’m a USAF vet and have always liked the C-130, or maybe it’s because I love living in the Northwest (Eugene, Oregon), or maybe because I worked in IT for almost 30 years, but the 3 book series (so far with hope for more) is by far the best WTSHFT books I’ve read. I love the humor and find the 1rst person perspective of the characters, including the nightrunners, quite convincing. BTW – the cliff hanger at the conclusion of Sanctuary caused me to immediately search Amazon/Kindle for the next book. Don’t take too long to finish it!
Hi Mike,
I’m not really sure how one couldn’t like the C-130. Great airplane to fly and good luck making it not work. What did you do in the AF if you don’t mind my asking? I actually lived in Eugene some time ago and went through the flight technology program at LCC. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying the series so far and I appreciate the kind words. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon for each, I would greatly appreciate that as well. I am nearing the end of editing the fourth book as we speak and hoping to have it published by this Friday. We’ll see how that goes. I hope you are having a fantastic day and feel free to drop by anytime!
John
Well John, another 5 Star Review. I don’t want to sound like I’m repeating myself but this series is fantastic! My father was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force and stationed in Italy during WWII. My mother and I lived in Northern California during that time not too far from Moffitt Field. She had her pilots license and wanted very much to fly for the Ferry Command which flew bombers over to Europe. She almost made it too until they found out about me. That stopped her cold. Boy, was she disappointed. Anyway, just wanted to ask one question. What about Michele? She seems to have gone away since they were rescued. Take care and hope your week-end was very good.
Hi Lea,
Thanks for the review! It is very much appreciated and I’m so happy you are enjoying the books. Too bad about your mom not getting to fly. That would have been a very cool experience but, of course, everything for its reason. Yeah, there are a few characters that have fallen by the wayside and I’m having a hard time incorporating them all. Michelle is kind of the quiet type but I’ll have to figure a way to bring her back in somehow. Thanks for writing – I truly appreciate it! I had a great weekend thanks – spent it with my son – and I hope yours was a great one as well!
John
Hello John,
I must say I became completely engrossed in your series. Your characters were very real and “human” making me care about them. Jack is a engaging character, and the self depracation in his thought narrative makes him a believable person, and not some super soldier. His passion for his kids resonates as do the descriptions of him feeling his age.
The night runners scenario was very cleverly conceived, and the twists in the 4th book with the changes of Jack and his ex wife are a nice progression of the story.
Finding this series has been a real treat. Unfortunately I devoured the books quickly and am now in withdrawal. It will be a long wait for me in anticipation of the 5th book. I’m as hooked on this serials as I am on the John Sanford “Prey” series!
As I bought the books to read with the Kindle reader on my iPad, I will submit a glowing review to Amazon.com.
All the best,
David Berger
Hi David,
As I mentioned, thank you very much! I really appreciate the great review you left and so glad the books are being well-received. Feel free to message anytime either here or Facebook. Enjoy the rest of your evening and week!
John
I love this book series. It is so engaging. I will be leaving reviews for each after I am done here. I hope the 5th book will be along soon as I read through the first four in a weekend. Also, I hope you eventually cover why Craig was so late arriving at McChord. Have a good rest of your week.
Hi Bryan,
Thank you! One, for leaving a review for each of the books – that is truly appreciated. And two, for taking the time and writing. I enjoy hearing from those who want to share their thoughts whether good or bad and I’m very glad that you are enjoying the series so far. I’ll try to cover the reasoning behind Greg’s late arrival. I am gathering my notes together as we speak and will be starting on the next one shortly. I am hoping it won’t take too long to write it but sometimes the story flows and other times it just creeps along painfully slow. Again, thanks and feel free to drop in anytime. I hope you have a great rest of your week as well!
John
Hi John! Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed all 4 books. I got lucky and caught Taken just when it came out. Any way of recieveing an email on the others when they come out?. Yours is the first series of the genre I’ve read that sounds like it could actually happen. and your style is very enjoyable and addicting to read. Take care and keep writing.
Hi Craig,
I appreciate you writing and I’m thrilled you are enjoying the books. With regards to emailing, if you subscribe to the blog/web site here, I usually send a blog out when it’s being published. I’ll also make sure to jump on here and send you a message when I’ve completed the next. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review for each book on Amazon, I would be eternally in your debt. Drop by anytime and leave me a message or on Facebook. I hope you have a great weekend!
John
Hello John! Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your series so far. I hope alot more will be forthcoming. The way you write, the stories are the first ones of the genre I’ve read that actually sounds like it could happen. Thanks for sharing your stories. Also is there any way I could recieve notice when a new book is out? Thanks again
Craig Burns

Love the series. I just finished Taken. I would love to know when the books come out so I can snatch them up!
Hi Donnie,
I absolutely thrilled you are enjoying the series and thank you for dropping by. Feel free to do so at any time! I post blogs on here from time to time when I’m writing to keep subscribers aware of any progress. I’ll also make it a point to send you an email when the next one gets published. If you would mind doing a review on each book’s page on Amazon, my gratefulness would never end. Again, feel free to keep in touch and I hope your weekend is a great one!
John
John: Just finished your first book and the more I read the more I enjoyed it. I think the way you set up the book and your characters was terrific especially as I got to the end and realized how important all the personal information was. Great job! I have started the second book and am looking forward to finding out where it goes. See you in TC.
Hi Tim,
I really appreciate that Tim and thrilled you enjoyed the first book. Admittedly it starts off a little slow. I hope things are well up in TC. It’s always a great time and conversation dropping by to add to my “already have too much” running gear. I hope your weekend has been and continues to be a great one for you!
John
Mr. O’Brien, I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I love the series so far—I’ve read all 4 books twice already. Can’t wait for wait for #’s 5-6-7-8-9…… You have a great style to your writing, while I am not a military veteran, after 20+ years as a police officer, most of that being a firearms instructor and swat team member, I like that your characters use real world tactics to survive. Now quit reading this and get back to writing!!! I’m tired of waiting!!!! Great books, looking forward to more. And I’d like to say THANK YOU for your service to our country.
Cube
Hi Charles,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for dropping by. I am so thrilled you are enjoying the books to date and appreciate you taking to time say so. A also appreciate your time keeping the streets safe and time you put into law enforcement. If you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon for each book, I’d be eternally in your debt. I’ll be starting on the next book this coming week so hopefully there won’t be a long wait until the next one is out. Feel free to drop in anytime and say hi or voice your thoughts. I hope you have a great weekend and thank you once again!
John
Just finished reading the 4th book! Will be leaving 5 star feedback on Amazon for all 4 books. I can’t wait for the next book! I finished these 4 in less than a week. I couldn’t seem to put it down. Great job writing! Thank you for your service to our country and for writing these books!
Hi Jessica,
I want to thank you for your message and your kind words. It thrills me to no end to know you enjoyed the books so far and I hope the rest, as they come out, are just as enjoyable. I’ll be starting on the next one tomorrow and hopefully have it finished quickly. I hope your day treated you well and you have a fantastic upcoming weekend. Feel free to drop in anytime! Oh, and thank in advance for the reviews.
John
I’m having a great time reading your books. I’m a huge zombie fan. You’re books seem a lot more polished than most I’ve read. Great characters, great story. I was excited to read in this blog that you’re planning on writing quite a few more installments. Keep up the good work. Good bless.
Hi Todd,
Thanks so much for writing and glad you are finding the books enjoyable. I am currently working on the fifth and will hopefully have it out soon although this one is taking a little more time to write. I have nine or ten envisioned for this series but that could change at any time. Who know, it could encompass a few more along the way. If you would mind leaving a review for each on Amazon, provided that’s where you picked them up, I would be forever in your debt. I do hope you had a fun weekend and your week is treating you well! Once again, thanks for dropping in and feel free to do so at any time. I am also on Facebook if you’d like to send a request there. Enjoy the rest of your evening!
John
In response to your last comment. I was happy to leave 5 star ratings for all four of the books on Amazon. Keep up the good work and stay well.
Todd
Thanks, Todd. I truly appreciate that. I hope your day is a fun one for you!
John
I have enjoyed all four of your books in this series (started the first just about two weeks ago). Looking forward to the next in the series. Good luck with the writing.
Hi Justin,
I’m glad to hear you have enjoyed the books and series to date. It truly does make my day knowing the story is being enjoyed. I’ll hopefully have the next one out close to the middle of June but that is just a guess. The writing on this fifth book is going a little slower than the others but it will pick up. I would appreciate it if you could leave a review on Amazon for each one – provided that’s where you obtained them. I would be very grateful! I hope you are having a great Friday evening and your weekend is a fun one for you! Thanks for dropping in and leaving me a message. Feel free to do so at any time.

John, just finished reading the first in your series, and look forward to reading more. Also, my friend is an Air Force pilot flying the B52, so I am interested in that stuff. Would you be willing to shed some more light on your career? What did you do in special ops? And thank you for your service to our country!
Hi there JP,
Thanks for writing and I am thrilled to hear you are enjoying the series. It makes my day knowing that the story is being enjoyed! Humbling as well! Thank you for the kind words as well. I usually don’t talk much about the special ops side but would be happy to share a little more in email if you would like – john at anewworldseries dot com. Also, if you wouldn’t mind throwing a review for each book on Amazon, I would be extremely grateful! I hope you are having an amazingly fun weekend!
John
I just finished your fourth book, absolutely loved it. Coming from both the prior maintenance and now tactical side of the Air Force, I enjoyed the detail, specifics, and humor I could relate to. Can’t wait for the fifth installment!

Hey there Anthony! I’m so glad you enjoyed the series so far. It’s always a pleasure to meet a fellow vet. I appreciate and thank you for your service! Hopefully you won’t have too long to wait for the fifth. It’s a little behind schedule but it will hopefully be finished and out before too much longer. If you feel so inclined, would you mind leaving a review on Amazon for each book? I hate asking but I would very much appreciate it. I hope you had a very pleasant and fun weekend and your week treats you well! Thanks again! Feel free to send a request on Facebook if you want and message anytime!
